Bye Mum

The Final Chapter

 

And   on  that  day I  received  a telephone  call   everyone , s son dreads   that  is being  informed  your  mother  has  passed  away....in    a  way  I  felt  a sudden  gush  of relief ,  no  longer  was  my  mother  suffering  ,  kept  apart  by  the  man  who   would  now  have  to face  the  loneliness  I  have  had  to endure and suffer ,  and  now  I  have  my  mother  s    spirit  around  me all the  time ,  nothing  stopping  the  bond  that  was   broken  apart in  1977  for  35   years  I   have   had  to  endure a  motherless   life   because  of  the  issues  I  have  from  this  period   of  my  life  and  my  mother  a  sonless  life.....  Despite  being  offered  a  weekend   at   my   abode   my  mother   was  forced  to  turn  away    ,  don't  ask  me  why   I  can only   respect   her  decision   although  I  did  ask  if    she  was  alright    no  reply   !!

And    so  a  week   has    passed   almost  to  the  minute  and   yet I   still   yearn  to  speak  to my  mother  ,   letting  her   know    everything   is  alright   she   is   at  peace

Rest    in   peace   mum   for   I   know   you   could   not    break   free   from this   hold .

For    my   mother   to  give  birth  to  me    almost   51  years   ago   ,  it    is  sad   that  we  spent    more  of  them  apart  than  together ,   something  I  will  never  find    out  now.....

So    mum   on  this  final    note  I   bid    you    not   goodbye   but   hello   as   from  now   you   are  as  free  as   a butterfly    your    spirit   free  to  wander  wherever   you  feel    and   I  feel  you  all around   me    mum ,   more  than ever ............
